About the author:

Robin Varma is a political theorist who specializes in Classical Greek philosophy and philosophies of crime and punishment. He has a Ph.D. in Political Science from Carleton University (June, 2022) and is an instructor at Concordia University. His Ph.D. dissertation focused on concepts of power in ancient and modern thought, and was supervised by Professor Waller R. Newell. Varma is the author of Ruling Bodies: A Study of Coercion and Punishment in Plato's Republic, Laws, and Gorgias (Lexington Books, 2022). A sample of his writing can be found on Google Books. Varma currently lives in Long Sault, Ontario, with his wife and son, and works at Health Canada as a Communications Officer.
